FIORDLAND AND MILFORD SOUND
LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Fiordland is home to some of the most untouched New Zealand landscape, and is also part the oldest land of New Zealand running along the west coast. It is surrounded by the peaks of the southern alps, the fjords and deep valleys carved by ancient glaciers, and the lakes formed by the earths constant change. Native flora and fauna have somewhat of a safe haven here in this UNESCO World Heritage site. Milford Sound Photography should be on everyone's bucket list.  It is a part of NZ that I always love visiting and documenting as a New Zealand Landscape Photographer. Before my first trip to the South Island solely for photography back in 2015 .. I had never been to Fiordland. I had seen stunning Milford Sound photography which absolutely took my breath away and I knew I just had to go. With Milford Sound being part of the UNESCO World Heritage site in Fiordland and knowing that it had once been named 'The Eighth Wonder of the World' .. I could hardly contain my excitement visiting such an epic place.

I was incredibly lucky on my first trip to Fiordland solely to capture Milford Sound photography. We had driven over 6 hours from Dunedin that day to arrive for a Milford Sound sunset. The sky was beautiful and the sunset I was able to capture is still one of my favourite photos to date.

Since that Fiordland photography trip back in 2015 I have returned many times. I've encountered many more Milford Sound sunsets, Milford Sound sunrises, finished the Lake Marian hike, hiked the Routeburn track, completed the Key Summit hike, photographed Marian Falls, flown high above Fiordland on a Milford Sound scenic flight, and I still have much more I want to photograph.

On our Pure Photo Adventures NZ Photography Tours we visit and stay in Milford Sound which is always such a huge highlight for our guests. It's always exciting for us to share this love of Fiordland with others.

I hope by sharing these NZ images of Fiordland it might inspire you to come and explore Milford Sound and Fiordland Photography for yourself.
